Terms of Service

The list price for the Glacier Bay Women’s Retreat includes tuition, program and activity fees, room and board while in Gustavus, and airfare between Gustavus and Juneau. Travel between your hometown and Juneau, alcohol, tips, insurance, and any other trip add-ons are not included.


Registration

To reserve your place in the retreat, please fill out our registration form and pay your 50% deposit. Deposits are refundable under certain conditions (see below). Registered participants will be sent a waiver, a fillable emergency medical information form, and an invoice for the remaining 50%. Each is due 90 days before the program begins, or the participant’s spot may be forfeited.


Payment

All prices are per-person and in U.S. dollars. All bookings include a refundable 50% deposit (terms below).

Final payments are due 90 days before the start date of the trip to keep your spot secure. You will receive an invoice for this amount following your initial registration, as well as regular subsequent reminders. Refunds are available only according to conditions described below. If you do not think you can pay in time please contact us via email. All payments will be made through PayPal, unless you specifically arrange otherwise with us.


Cancellation Policy and Deposits

If you wish to cancel your registration you must notify The Arete Project in writing. When we receive your notification, cancellation will take place subject to the following terms:

  • If cancellation takes place within 7 days of booking, 100% of your payment is refundable including the deposit, unless the start date is less than 90 days from booking date (as we do not offer any refunds within 90 days of a retreat).
  • If cancellation takes place 150 days or more prior to the retreat start date, any payments made will be refunded within 30 days of cancellation, plus 50% of your deposit.
  • If cancellation takes place between 90-150 days prior to the retreat start date, any payments made will be refunded within 30 days of cancellation, and 100% of your deposit will be forfeited.
  • If cancellation takes place less than 90 days prior to the retreat start date, 100% of your deposit and any additional payments will be forfeited.

We encourage you to consider travel insurance to protect the costs of your trip in the case of injury, illness or inability to attend for other reasons.


Trip Changes / Cancellations

Should The Arete Project be required to make a last-minute change to the dates or location of a course due to unforeseen circumstances, all registered participants will be offered the option of a full refund, should those changes prohibit them from attending.

Should The Arete Project be required to cancel a course, all participants will be offered a full refund.


Insurance

All course participants are required to carry personal health insurance policies. We also recommend that each participant purchase travel insurance in case she be required to cancel her registration due to unforeseen circumstances.


Waiver

Each registered participant will be required to sign a waiver signifying her understanding of the course’s physical requirements, declaring her fitness for said requirements, acknowledging any risks involved, and releasing The Arete Project from any liability. Each participant must submit this waiver no fewer than 90 days before the course start date or risk forfeiting her spot.
